Statement on the business goals and strategies of ODW-ELEKTRIK
This Code of Conduct applies to ODW-ELEKTRIK GmbH and all its subsidiaries in Germany and abroad (hereinafter jointly referred to as “ODW-ELEKTRIK”). Furthermore, the Code of Conduct applies to all employees of these companies, regardless of function and position. ODW-ELEKTRIK is committed to ensuring and promoting compliance with internationally recognized human and labor rights, in particular the prohibition of child and forced labor, the handling of conflict minerals, compliance with environmental standards and guidelines, including precautionary environmental protection, as well as compliance with relevant product requirements and animal welfare regulations through its own actions and those of its suppliers and subcontractors.
Our corporate policy sets out the essential values and rules of conduct for today and the future, and represents a central guideline in procurement.
Human rights
We accept and respect international human rights in accordance with national laws and customs. Within our sphere of influence, we will promote compliance and will not participate in human rights violations.
Forced labour, child labour and human trafficking
We expressly condemn all forms of forced labour, child labour, as well as human trafficking.
Rights of employees
We respect the rights of our employees, and by strategic actions, we promote fair and respectful daily coexistence and even more. Compliance with the country-specific legislation with regard to working time, wages and social benefits, as well as freedom of negotiation and collective bargaining is the basis for our actions.
Discrimination
We will not accept any harassment or discrimination against employees. This applies without restriction to gender, social position, skin colour, political opinion, origin, religion, age, pregnancy, sexual identity as well as physical and mental impairment.
Environment and sustainable resource management
Within the framework of our environmental responsibility and with the aim of sustainable value and supply chains, ODW-ELEKTRIK ensures that in all our actions we reduce the environmental impact to a minimum by saving energy and water, reducing waste and applying the laws of the respective country in which we operate. We are committed to promote the environmental awareness of our employees and suppliers, in order to mitigate the advancing climate change and to conserve our natural resources.
Data protection, data security and confidentiality
ODW-ELEKTRIK is committed to protecting confidential, secret and personal data as part of its business activities. We store and use data in accordance with the provisions of data protection laws and with the legal and company regulations on information security. We ensure that data is protected against misuse such as unauthorised use, modification or deletion. Suitable technical and organisational measures (e. g. Non-Disclosure-Agreements) in accordance with state of the art technology are used for this purpose.
Corruption, money laundering and bribery
ODW-ELEKTRIK condemns all types of corruption, money laundering and bribery, which means neither to use, nor to pursue business relations based on corruption, money laundering and bribery. We support the free and fair competition of all market participants with our actions.
Free market, fair competition and lawful cross-border trade with goods
ODW-ELEKTRIK promotes fair competition and complies with antitrust law as well as other competition-regulating requirements and competition-protecting laws. Agreements restricting competition, such as price fixing and cartel agreements with competitors, suppliers or customers are not tolerated. ODW-ELEKTRIK also expects this attitude from its business partners. As an international company, we comply with all trade regulations and import and export control laws that affect our business transactions. Furthermore, we always take into account the necessary sanction lists.
Conflict of interests
Situations or actions are to be avoided in which personal interests might conflict with those of ODW-ELEKTRIK. The function or position at ODW-ELEKTRIK is not to be used for personal advantage or for the advantage of third parties (for example part-time employment, advantage of relatives or close persons).
